03.12.19 Our Trip to Walsingham

First of all, Thank-you to all of those that came to support and enjoy the school Christmas fair last Thursday. A great time was had by all and it was a very successful fundraiser for the wonderful FOSA. Seahorse class even managed to raise the most class funds with our badge, balloon and candy-cane reindeer stand. Well done Seahorse class!

Today we visited The Anglican Shrine of Our Lady Walsingham, to add to our enquiry knowledge as we investigate 'What does it mean to be a pilgrim?' We learnt all about Walsingham as a place of pilgrimage. We learnt more about the Christmas story and enjoyed some Christmas themed activities.

Drawing the bedroom of a king and thinking about what gifts we would bring him...

Meeting Caroline our guide and learning about Walsingham in the school house.

Exploring the grounds of the shrine.

Learning about Mary's  visit from Angle Gabriel

Learning about Mary and Joseph's journey to Bethlehem in the stunning architecture of the Shrine.

Thinking about who helps us on our life journey.

Visiting the Holy House. A replica of the house built in Saxon times, of the house where Gabriel visited Mary. Time for reflection and lighting our own candle.

More exploration and meeting a lost shepard! He told us all about his visit from the angles and how he followed a star to a special stable.

The nativity and making our own Christmas tree decorations.

The life an style of a pilgrim!
