Week beginning 3.02.2020

Seahorse class had a fantastic day at Norwich castle building upon their knowledge of the Ancient Egyptians. We received so many compliments on how well behaved, enthusiastic and knowledgeable our class was. Well done Seahorse class! Here are few of the things we got up to...

Arriving in our own behind the scenes auditorium to hear about the day. We were told we would be meeting and learning from some characters (archaeologists, scientists and Ancient Egyptians), to help us think about the question of the day... 'Should we take artefacts from ancient tombs?'.

Looking at the museums collection of ancient artefacts with the castles conservationist.

Learning more about the ceremony of mummification. We really impressed the staff with our knowledge!

Looking at, asking questions and handling real artefacts thousands of years old!

Learning about ancient jewellery making skills and symbols, whilst making our own replica collars.

Role playing a day in the life of an Ancient Egyptian.

Picking the fruit for the festival.

 Washing the clothes.
 Cutting the crops.

The procession for the priest.

We really had a fantastic day! We decided that maybe would should pay respect to ancient beliefs by studying artefacts but leaving them in their original place. What do you think?
