Week Beginning 19.06.17

What a sporty week it has been this week! We started the week with a challenging work-out with our visiting athlete Marrissa King. Well done to everyone who took part; trying their hardest and raising funds.

We continued our sporty theme with our school sports day on Tuesday. Everybody seemed to enjoy the afternoon, as we persevered and pushed ourselves to the maximum  for personal bests and points for our team. Well done to everyone and a special well done to our winning house: Seacole.

Literacy

In literacy this week we have been looking at persuasion. We have been looking at the language and techniques used in advertising to convince us to buy products. We really enjoyed starring in our own commercials and using our language skills to sell some really boring products. Moving forward with our persuasion theme, we have started to look at the structure and layout of letters as we progress towards writing constructive, effective letters of complaint.

Maths

In maths we have been interpreting tables. Also, we have have been thinking of questions to investigate, designing data collection tables, collecting data and choosing the clearest way to present our findings.

Geography

The Amazon rain forest was our destination this lesson, as we researched some  of the indigenous tribes of the mighty forest. We looked at the Tupi, Korub, Kayapo and the Panara tribes; focusing on how they use the forest to survive and and was makes each ones culture so individual.
